The Road (Map) To Hell

This from today’s Debka:

After Bush departed Sharm al-Sheikh Tuesday, his 5 Arab co-summiteers issued negative statement.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and Palestinian Authority voiced support for Arafat as elected Palestinian president and endorsed Palestinians right of return to pre-1948 lands, with no mention of need to halt terror and Palestinian armed confrontation.

This really sums up the position of the Arab states. Their goal is not two states living in peace side by side but ONE state – Palestine. If they cannot beat us militarily, they will use the so-called “right of return” to vanquish us demographically.

Are our leaders oblivious to all of this? Why are we embarking on this suicidal road map? We know that a return to the 1967 borders will only invite more trouble for as long as we breathe air in this land.

The best solution I have heard so far comes from Effie Eitam from the NRP who espouses the view that Israel should allow the inhabitants of the West Bank and Gaza to choose where they will to live: either in the West Bank and Gaza, without voting rights or sovereignty, or in the new Palestinian states in Sinai and Jordan. This makes alot of sense to me. There is no difference between the palestinians of Jordan and the ones who live in Israel.
