Anti-Semitism From Syria

While the Syrian government claim that they want peace with Israel, they continue propogating the vilest anti-Semitism in their official daily paper, as these items from Memri illustrate:
THE SYRIAN OFFICIAL DAILY TESHREEN SAID THAT THE ISRAELI PLAN TO EVACUATE THE GAZA STRIP SETTLEMENTS ‘IS A 100% COMMERCIAL SHYLOCK DEAL, AND THE STRANGE PART IS THAT IT IS PAID IN ADVANCE, BASED ON ONLY TALK, AND MAY NOT MATERIALIZE.’—-
‘THE MIGHTY APPARATUS OF THE WESTERN MEDIA, CONTROLLED BY ZIONISM, SUCCEEDED IN STEALING THE [ARAB-PALESTINIAN] RIGHT FROM ITS OWNERS AND DRESSED IT IN UGLY TERRORISM GARB, IN AN UNPRECEDENTED FORGERY.’ (TESHREEN, SYRIA, 2/11/04)
Notice how they state that the media is “controlled by Zionism.” Surely, this supports the contention that Zionism is being used as a euphemism for “Jews”, and that anti-Zionism is in many cases a cloaked manifestation of anti-Semitism.
