Certificate of Merit

The Jerusalem Post proudly reports the success of one of their own:

Jerusalem Post executive editor Amotz Asa-El has received a certificate of merit for editing the paper’s special Independence Day supplement, “The State of the Jews,” in the annual B’nai B’rith World Center Award for Journalism in memory of Wolf and Hilda Matsdorf.

First prize went to Ma’ariv Paris correspondent Sefi Hendler for a series on rising anti-Semitism in France.

Certificate of merit? I received one of those every year of primary school – and so did every other child. That was the point – they were given out so that no child felt left out.
