Never Too Old

Maariv reports:

History was made on Sunday at Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv as a 64-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy child and became the oldest woman to ever give birth in Israel.

Channel 1 reported last (Monday) night that the couple, both aged 64, underwent fertility treatments for years. In spite of the repeated failures, the woman insisted to continue and finally got pregnant nine months ago.

According to Prof. Zion Ben-Rafael, ìThe peak of a womanís fertility is 28, after which a slight decrease occurs that accelerates after age 32. 40% of woman above 35 cannot become pregnant, while at 40 the rate stands at 60%. At age 45, only 10% of woman can get pregnantî.

Well done to the new couple. Clearly, the husband does not have a mobile phone.
