The Jerusalem Post reports:

Mofaz: IDF ready for the event of Arafat’s death

The Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet have completed plans for the event of Yasser Arafat’s death and his anticipated burial ceremony in the Gaza Strip, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz told cabinet ministers Sunday.

Shaul: Ok, you guys bring the pita, humous, and other dips. The Shin Bet boys can bring the rugalach, balloons, and soft drinks.

Update: I guess Saeb Erekat would not have appreciated my post.

“I hope the Israeli public will show sensitivities. I’ve seen some Israelis dancing in the streets, hugging each other other yesterday,” Erekat told CNN. “I think it’s alien… I cannot describe my feelings. It’s heartbreaking to see Israelis hugging and kissing in such circumstances.”

Funny, because I don’t recall Mr Erekat muttering the words “alien” or “heartbreaking” after these scenes.
