Can you believe this?
Israeli nuclear whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu has been nominated to become rector of one of Britain’s top universities, the Scottish Press Association has reported.Vanunu said he would do all he could to represent Glasgow University students if elected, even though he is banned from leaving Israel. The 50-year-old will follow in the footsteps of William Gladstone, Benjamin Disraeli and Winnie Mandela if chosen as rector. The anti-nuclear campaigner defied an order banning him from talking to the media to tell the Scottish Press Association he was delighted with his nomination.
Rector? More like rectum.
