Bin Laden: The Early Years

A childhood friend of Osama bin Laden reveals what interested the arch terrorist as a young man.
Batarfi says he was a neighbor of bin Laden when they were growing up in Mushrefah, Saudi Arabia. He said bin Laden’s mother, Alia, introduced him to his wife, and has described playing football with bin Laden.“Bin Laden was a regular player in the neighborhood football team I captained,” Batarfi recently told Pakistan’s Daily Times. “He played defense and he played forward. He was tall so he was a good header of the ball.”
Now, he concentrates more on beheadings.
Apparently, bin Laden also appreciated a good cowboy film. But not because of the action.
“He was religious from the beginning,” said Batarfi. “He was not an extremist but he was very decent. He watched television but preferred cowboy films because the women were always clothed. He had a very nice attitude.”
Modest women’s attire aside, I am surprised he would like cowboy films - the bad guys always lose.
