We admire, begrudgingly many of their products,(I remember Dave you said you had French car and liked it,before getting a Ford) fashion and cuisine. However, that is where it all ends. Their policies and arrogance on several issues affront many people, while they ' brown nose' up to those who they think might harm them ' who seem to do so anyway. Whilst Israel is their favourite "Whipping Boy". Yep, I think its true; a lot of us do like French things. We admire, begrudgingly many of their products,(I remember Dave you said you had French car and liked it,before getting a Ford) fashion and cuisine. However, that is where it all ends. I like the wine, the food, the language, some of the films, some of the music, some of the attitudes. I detest the politics, most of the ideals, and the pettiness that enables both.I prefer Germany (for instance) as somewhere to be, but French products are never very far from me - except that in the last few years, I have been making a conscious effort to boycott them. Chianti instead of Bordeaux, Averna instead of Armagnac, Loewenbrau instead of Kronenbourg, English mustard instead of Dijon... Define “things French”… I like the wine, the food, the language, some of the films, some of the music, some of the attitudes.
