Extremists

The rules of even-handedness (read: moral equivocation) dictate that one mentions “extremists on both sides.” Invariably, this means the terrorists (commonly called “militants” or “resistance fighters”) on the PLO Arab side, and the “settlers” on the Israeli side.
While I do not always agree with the settlement movement’s methods, there is no doubt they are unfairly demonized. Placing them on the same moral level as the PLO Arab terrorist is simply ridiculous. Yet countless people do make such comparisons.
I will debunk such comparisons on another day. In the meantime, allow me to leave you with these two photos from the media today. One shows the PLO Arab “extremists”, and the other the Jewish “extremists.” These pictures speak volumes.

Well, I would surely like your opinion on the settlers compared to (PLO) terrorists if it isn’t too much trouble. I don’t know much about them, and as I live in Europe (well at least in one of the better countries, Denmark) I get all the information that settlers are a very important reason why there’s is terrorism, they just want to provoke palestinians and such things. (even just links to other articles explaining this would be great.) I always get this opinion from most people and the media that the settlers are just like terrorists.
Interesting post.
Pictures
can
speak
Pictures do speak..but so does ignorance.
Many “settlers” do carry weapons, since their lives are in danger. They are not carrying these weapons to shoot and kill innocent people, which is more than can be said for PLO Arab terrorists.
I know I would also be carrying a weapon if I lived near thousands of people who make it no secret that they want me dead.
You missed my point.
Of course the pictures that you chose made the Palestinians look like extremists.
You take pictures of amed resistance fighters removed from their families and compare it to pictures of unarmed settlers surrounded by their families. And then concluded that “these pictures speak volumes.”
But the pictures that you chose would suggest that guns are more common among Palestinians than among settlers. And that is far from the truth. If images should get a chance to speak, let us hear what they would really tell us.
I have been to Israel and the settlers are armed to the teeth. Whether or not they should be armed is another question, but I feel like the pictures that you provided simply lied.
Both sides have extremists. And a lot of the settlers that I have met are nuts. Extremists.
Comment 1. You missed my point.
Response 1.No, you missed David’s point. In the majority, the settlers are not gun totting assassins and should not be portrayed as such. On the other hand, the PLO Arabs parade their weapons at whim and make no secret as to what they intend doing with them.
Comment 2. Of course the pictures that you chose made the Palestinians look like extremists.
Response 2.Have you got any more pics of Settlers with guns? Not many I bet. So what if you do. It would be easy to flood this blog with images of PLO Arabs holding guns and teaching their children how to use them. Its part of the PLO Arab systemic indoctrination of hate that is not shared by Israeli society.
Comment 3. You take pictures of amed resistance fighters removed from their families and compare it to pictures of unarmed settlers surrounded by their families. And then concluded that “these pictures speak volumes.”
Response 3.These ‘amed resistance fighters’ see any Israeli, or person who ever they think is non-PLO Arab as targets. This includes women and children and foreigners. If you stuck your head out ‘ they would waste you too without a problem, unless you too are one of them?
Comment 4. But the pictures that you chose would suggest that guns are more common among Palestinians than among settlers. And that is far from the truth. If images should get a chance to speak, let us hear what they would really tell us.
Response 4. As mentioned, if settlers carry weapons, it’s for self-defence against murderous incursions by your PLO Arab mates. It’s not the other way around, buddy. You can’t see the picture for the pixels.
Comment 5. I have been to Israel and the settlers are armed to the teeth. Whether or not they should be armed is another question, but I feel like the pictures that you provided simply lied.
Response 5. I’ve been there too mate, and you don’t see armed gangs of settlers on ‘martyrdom missions’ into PLO areas to murder babies and who ever else is unlucky enough to be in their path. The pictures David posted do not lie ‘ they tell it as it is. Simply.
Comment 6. Both sides have extremists. And a lot of the settlers that I have met are nuts. Extremists.
Response 6. You can find ‘nuts’ anywhere. However, Israel’s are under control. Unlike the PLO Arabs ‘ whose community largely backs the actions of these scum and use whatever manipulation at hand to justify their disgusting barbarity.
No cause is justification for their actions. ‘Freedom fighters’ don’t deliberately kill babies ‘ your mates do. It’s absolutely sickening. Your ‘amed resistance fighters’ are cowards. As you are too, anonymous. An apologist for misrepresented inhumanity.
So, let me get this straight: You are saying that the settlers are not extreme?
What a weak retort. Read Response 6 ‘ I would only add ‘mostly under control’. What would you expect? These people are extremely passionate.
As far as they are concerned its their land, their country, as with all the others, acquired in war they didn’t start. Why give it up? What would you do mate ‘ give in without a squeak?
Bugger off and do some homework and most of all ‘ develop insight and dig into the PLO- monitored BS you are choking on. You have come to the wrong place to unload your crap.
