Sloppy Start

Yet another new Jewish site: Machers.*
As Esther correctly states, it looks like an amalgam of collected information, with no original content. Which is fine, if that is its purpose.
However, when a site bills itself as The World’s #1 Jewish Directory, you expect better. For instance, I wonder what David thinks about being referred to as a “Jewish mother.” Or the guys at Silent Running being called “Australian” and referred to as a solitary female. Ari is another victim of a gender mix-up, and Meryl is sure to be p*ssed with her blurb (although she probably does think highly of Chris Muir).
But in perhaps the worst error, yours truly is not even listed, (despite being one of the more high profile Israeli and Jewish bloggers).
Despite its flaws, the idea has potential. Hopefully, they can get their act together.
* The Yiddish word macher means “important person”
Update: Come to think of it, I am kind of glad they omitted me. I would probably have been referred to as a “New Zealand woman”.

You are in good company as they have forgotten me too. Maybe we should start a rival blog called “The Mavens.”
Perhpas they were using a sophisticated algorithm that detected too much sensitivity in my writing style and mistook it for the lack of a ‘Y’ chromosome.
Or maybe they did what every other Jewish concern does when trying to get a big project off the ground in a hurry: They cut corners and did a half-assed job.
‘Yihiyeh B’seder’ meets the blogosphere.
Whatever.
Yihiyeh B’seder’ That is my motto. Everything is going to be ok, or so I try to convince myself.
That sounds like a great slogan for a blog: “‘Yihiyeh B’seder’ meets the blogosphere”
