But, why focus on dAWK, aren’t there so many other thousands of other people like him?

Well its actually a quite simple answer, he is such a prime example of this horrible trend. However dAWK can not say the same thing about his anti-israel sentiment, becuase Israel is not a prime example for all evil in the world, if anything its the exact oppisite. One of the only countries that is able to say that it actually cares about doing the morally correct action

“unadulterated obession with Israel ” – I like that. Womble has been over there slogging it out with this fool and his site “regulator” Awdred (he has a laxative effect). Womble nailed them everytime with some excellent clear thinking – they hate him. But No way AWK would suck latte’s at Starbucks though; they’re not ISM approved.

To add….there’s also the fact that it would just be far too dangerous to actively oppose the Arab government’s genocide campaign in Darfur. It’s far easier to get daddy to pay for a flight to Israel, where you can hang out with AP and BBC reporters, harass the IDF and generally protest your little heart out, and then lay back in Tel-Aviv wearing the obligatory Che Guevara t-shirt sipping a cafe latte at Starbucks.

Where is this “Palestine” he keeps referring to? It’s always amusing seeing lefties–especially ones with “white power”-esque monikers–feigning sympathy for the Arabs known as “Palestinians” whilst simultaneously ignoring Islamic terrorism across the globe, and the genuine genocide which is happening right now in Darfur. It’s not simply a case of ignorance it’s also an unadulterated obession with Israel which exposes their true agenda.

Seriously I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of promoting his website, he has links to John Pilger for heaven’s sake.

Nit-picking aside, you make good points. It's always interesting to see that people who pride themselves outwardly on being individuals, etc. always flock to the fashionable cause du jour. The excuse that dAWK makes for not demonstrating re: Darfur is basically "nobody else is doing it". How's that for individualism?

The funny thing is that dAWK himself is not avert to using the “relativism excuse” in order to divert attention from other issues towards Israel. See his blog entry titled “Syria/Lebanon vs. Israel/Palestine”

The post of his that you chose to quote stands on a false assumption that only those who “actually care” about Darfur have the right to invoke it- which is self-evident nonsense. Quoting my own reply to him, when an event receives a share of attention that is monstruously disporportionate to its true scale, it is NECESSERY to ask why so much attention is given to it. And I don’t think that someone can honestly dispute that the share of world public attention given to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is completely disporportionate both to the number of fatalities and to the size of the population involved.
