Another Perceived Victory

After handing over control of Jericho to the PA last week, Israel has now done the same with Tul Karm.
Terrible idea.
It would be one thing if the PA was willing to confront terrorism head on. In such a case, the handover would not necessarily be seen as a victory to the terrorists, but rather a shifting of security responsibility. However, as we know, this is not the case. The most the PA has done is this:
Meanwhile, the PA Interior Ministry has begun placing restrictions on the use of weapons by Palestinian gunmen, Palestinian security officials said Monday. One of the officials said the ministry had distributed a letter outlining weapons restrictions to hundreds of militants in the West Bank.
Dear esteemed resistance fighter,
We are currently enforcing weapons restrictions so as to convince the Zionist authority that we are genuine about peace. Consequently, we kindly request that you carry only one gun at a time.
We will not be gathering your remaining arms, but will allow you to conceal them, until such time as we decide that it is feasible for our brave Muhajeens to march on to Jerusalem.
Kind Regards,
‘Uncle’ Mahmoud
Of course, scenes like this reinforce my point.

The message to the terrorists: Terror actually works. And pretty damn well.

you read my mind exactly. I was watching the news here, channel 9, ABC, channel 10, SBS all of them. It was crazy, they were all berating Israel and trying to make Israel sound like it was being silly for not handing over more cities. While they were going on with these commentaries they showed clips similar to these pictures of palestinians celebrating with pistols and automatic weapons. I just could not understand how someone doesn’t realize there is a security problem if people are going around firing weapons.
Just to make sure, the PA has made it illegal for palestinians to fire such arms, hasn’t it?
