Not once is Schoenborn mentioned. It may be that the Jerusalem Post article you cited was simply too optimistic and not really assessing his chances when it referred to Schoenborn as a "candidate". Or it might be that the Guardian journalist is simply not willing to countenance the possibility of a Pro-Israel Pope. Can't help feeling that this speech didn't help his chances though.
