Anti-Semites

In case you were wondering, being an evil tyrant and an anti-Semite doesn’t necessarily have to go hand-in-hand. But it helps.
When Zimbabwe’s dictator Robert Mugabe was asked by South African TV recently ‘Why is Zimbabwe’s economy in disarray?’ he replied, ‘It is because of the Jews that left Zimbabwe and are now all living in Johannesburg.’
And speaking of anti-Semites, “Israel Shamir” is apparently not a Russian-Israeli columnist, as he claims, but rather a Swedish neo-nazi impostor (hat tip: Moonbat Central).

(In unison) “It was the Jooooooooooooooooooooos!”
Update: From an LGF commenter:
Ben Dror Yemini, editor at Maariv, just told me that Shamir exists but converted a while back to Christianity and took on the Swedish name.

Israel Shamir comes from Riga, in Latvia, I believe, and he was a dissident of some kind in the Soviet Union- which is something he often uses to boast. I suspect that the nature of his opposition to the regime back then wasn’t exactly noble either. He is a truly rabid anti-Semite posing as an anti-Zionist, but not putting too much effort into maintaining his disguise. A few of his articles were published in Israel, some by Haaretz, some by the brilliant Russian immigrant newspaper Vesty (who fittingly headlined the section where they put it “Voice of the enemy”).
