PETA Apology

Ingrid Newkirk, the President of PETA, has published an apology for PETA’s tasteless “Holocaust on Your Plate” Campaign.

Yes, she really has.

It should be mentioned, however, that her apology mainly consists of an explanation as to why the “Holocaust on Your Plate” Campaign seemed like a really good idea at the time.

In any event, I welcome her apology, and eagerly await her apology for this.

(Tip of the hat to reader Romy, who drew my attention to the apology)

Update: Come to think of it, will PETA view the flying pig graphic as some kind of animal exploitation, and demand an apology from me?

Update: On further reflection, this “apology”, coming out on Holocaust Remembrance Day of all days, is probably nothing more than a PR stunt.

A fake apology. More like a rationalization. insulting to anyone who has been a victim of genocide. And especially bad timing on her part….Yom Ha SHoah and all….

Sorry, I disagree. I think the timing is on the mark. The apology itself, however, is indeed lame.

Nope..PETA knew of the offense their campaign caused for a very long time. A speedy apology was called for.

Has it really been sixty years since WWII? Its hard to say whether it has been a very short time or a very long time. Today, Jews around the world are commemorating Yom HaShoah or Holocaust Remembrance Day. Out Of Step Jew suggests a Yom HaShoah litu…
