Well, all I can say is that anyone that decides to crash a plane into a tower and kill nearly 3,000 innocent people is not just stupid but a blood-thirsty mass murderer. So in case you are wondering, as an Arab, I really can’t blame the person that wrote this.
- Qatar-based Jordanian blogger Natasha Tynes, responding to the sight of some anti-Arab graffiti (“Stupid Arabs!”) on a fence put up around Ground Zero in NYC.
I don’t condone the graffiti, nor generalizing about all Arabs on account of the actions of some, but how refreshing to hear Natasha’s reaction, which shows understanding, and is devoid of any attempt to justify a murderous act. If there were more outspoken Arabs like her, then there would be less people writing such misguided graffiti slogans.
