Israellycool Podcast #3 June 3rd, 2005

On this week’s show, Dave chats with a seasoned political analyst about Deep Throat, mainstream media bias against Israel, the UN, French cars, and pygmies in Beit Shemesh, amongst other things.

The podcast is located on this page, from where you can listen and subscribe to the feed. Alternatively, you can download it here.

Update: Apologies for the relatively poor sound quality on this one (it sounded ok before I converted the file to an mp3). But there’s no problem hearing it if the volume is turned up high.

    My-Monkey-Cloud. Heh.

I do believe that kofi will be writing Yasser about that soon…

Also, regarding sound…be sure to keep the mic secure so that it doesn’t bump into anything b/c a minor tap can sound huge on the sound file…

Please be sure to have one person speak at a time as well…it can be really difficult to decipher what is being said when there are 2 people talking over one another…at least when all we have to go by is the audio.

Actually, the sound was difficult to hear even with the sound turned way up. To be fair, I was listening on the bus home, and the ambient noise probably made things worse for me than many listeners experienced.

Also, one of your stated objectives is to help convert public opinion to Israel’s cause. If this is the case, your “humorous” reference to the Hebrew meaning of Kofi Annan’s name was pure disaster. Did you not think that many skeptical listeners would immediately associate the monkey reference with the color of Mr. Annan’s skin – and assume that you are making a racist, as opposed to a politically satirical point?? Please be more careful in future podcasts — comments like that hand ammunition to the anti-Zionists and do nothing to help our cause.

Actually, your neighbor should podcast. I found him very intelligent and diplomatic in his commentary. I think many more people would be persuaded by his way of explaining matters than by your ‘preach to the choir’ approach.

    I’ll mention it to him.

    Mark,

For better sound quality I suggest you loosen that uptight attitude that is stopping the oxygen from getting to the side of your brain that allows you to understand humor.

Rix — I got the humor, and thought your own comment was well worded and very funny. I understand where David is coming from and know he and other Israelis/Zionists are not racist. You missed my point — our enemies love that kind of comment, and will use it as evidence that their propaganda is correct; Zionism=racism. My hope is that people will come to understand the justice of our cause, and podcasters/bloggers like David need to be careful not to alienate the very people they want to reach out to.

oops sorry bout that … Don’t know why that happened.

I am glad you liked Rix’s comments, because I am toying with the idea of having her in an upcoming podcast.

As for your comment, I hear what you are saying. There IS a real risk of people misconstruing mockery of a corrupt, ineffectual UN leader with racism. But in all honesty, I never even think of the color of his skin.
