All Hail the Goat

Reuters reports:

A wild mountain goat was crowned King of Ireland on Wednesday in an ancient annual ritual whose origins are lost in the mists of history.

No kidding.

But hey..if Mordechai Vanunu can be elected as rector of Glasgow University, then I don’t see why a goat can’t be King of Ireland.

Hey, don’t knock it. After all, there is the Temple of the Dancing Goats Near Banyas. (This is the Arabic ersion of Pan, the head Satyre) These two items are probably related by means of a common anciant cult practice.
