Another mazal tov is in order, this time to West Coast Eagles captain Ben Cousins, on winning the 2005 Brownlow Medal (for best Australian Rules footballer). Not only did Cousins win, but his teammate Daniel Kerr placed second. It is the first time a club has produced a one-two finish in the Brownlow Medal since 1926.
What a week for the West Coast Eagles! Now I only hope they win the Premiership Cup on Saturday.

It’s an interesting time to be in Perth at the moment. Kind of subdued but confident. I think all the local footy fans are collectively holding their breaths – the Eagles supporters to see if we can really do it, and the Dockers supporters to see if the nightmare is a reality.
