Quote of the Day

“God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them.”
US President George Bush, according to PA leader Mahmud Abbas.
I guess G-d is a neocon.
Update: PA (Dis)Information Minister Nabil Shaath has a slightly different version of Bush’ words.
Shaath, now the Palestinian information minister, said: “President Bush said to all of us: ‘I’m driven with a mission from God’”.“‘God would tell me, ‘George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan’.“‘And I did. And then God would tell me, ‘George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq… ‘ And I did.“‘And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me, ‘Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East’. And by God I’m gonna do it’,” said Shaath.
Needless to say, the White House has denied that Bush ever said this. Which would render both Abbas and Shaath – dare I say it – liars. But we already knew that.

I guess it is totally inconceivable to the media that this supposed statement by Bush is another lie generated by the Hate America crowd, the anti-Christians, trying to paint Bush as some sort of radical nut who gets messages from above. Meanwhile the radical islamists are the ones claiming to have divine orders to carry out their nightmarish plans. As for the “neo-con” label it was created by a think tank group trying to cast conservatives as neo-nazis or con artists.
What are you talking about? Those are direct quotes from Nabil Shaath and Mahmoud Abbas. I just have a problem with hearing Bush say that, because I can only hear Dan Aykroyd saying it in a Chicago accent: “We’re on a mission from Gahd!”
Hi everyone! First post on this blog:
Have you seen this?

What are you talking about? Those are direct quotes from Nabil Shaath and Mahmoud Abbas.
He might be talking about the fact that despite the way the strongly pro-palestinian “journo” Arnon Regular gives the impression, it certainly does NOT appear to be a direct quote from Abbas but rather a mish mash of translations of second hand accounts
Anti-Bush Professor Ira Chernus first put the “quote” in doubt when he
explained why it wasn’t a “quote” at all, but a “translation of a
translation of a translation”
“Abas heard them from a translator. Then Abas repeated them, as he
remembered them a couple of weeks later, in Arabic. Some unknown person
wrote down what he thought he heard Abas say. Then Regular, or someone at
Ha’aretz, translated them back into English-or perhaps first into Hebrew and
then into English”
Or maybe he’s talking about the fact that
the Whitehouse has emphatically denied (a denial that would be easily provable as false if it was) that anything like those comments were made
” It’s beyond a stretch. It’s an invention. It was not said.” – (Whitehouse
statement on the supposed quote)
Or maybe he’s talking about the fact that even Abbas now emphatically denies it was ever said!!
“This report is not true,” the Abbas statement said today. “I have never heard President Bush talking about religion as a reason behind the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. President Bush has never mentioned that in front of me on any occasion and specifically not during my visit in 2003.”
Just another moonbat lie.
