Israellycool Podcast #31 is now up on my podcast site.
On this week’s show, I talk about what I have been eating over Chanukah, the annual Festival of Festivals in Wadi Nisnas, today’s Chanukah present from neo palestinian terrorists, Jacques Chirac and the Da Vinci Code, Patrick Swayze’s latest foray into music, and a very weird wedding.
Featuring Adam Sandler’s Chanukah Song (1 and 2)

Grrrrrrr!!! You make me so angry! “Why didn’t the US invade Syria”?!?!?!?!!? WTF? When did the world become te US’s responsibility? I said recently that Israel was our closest ally save England, but I forgot about our even closer ally Australia (Australia totally rocks). Third closest ally means you get full support from us no matter what you do, so no worries there. Syria…….. grr I’m so mad I can’t even type.
Israel, USA, GB, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan are the bulwarks of democracy. You could add some of the old eastern European bloc, but they are not yet in a position to solve problems (though they will be soon). Anyway, why the hell does the USA have to lead the charge to save the Syrian masses? Hell, you guys are right there! And you are land-connected with every other pro-democracy country save us and Japan. Do it! The UN will try to condemn you, but we’ll block it. You know it’s true. None of the 7 vetoers let the UN say bad things about their allies.
It should be clear by now that thoughtless hippies will destroy the chance of the US expanding the war on these horrible people. So don’t blame America for Syria’s continued existence. Help us!
I’m starting to feel like we are getting played. This is a team effort. Israel has much more to gain from this war than we do. Join the fight!
Man, I reallly dislike posting angry messages here because it seems somehow anti-semetic (assuming semetic means jewish). But we have got to be united in our goal to end this crap.
Take a pill and calm down. My point was that Syria shelter terrorists, and are a threat to regional stability as were the Saddam-led Iraq. Of course, it would be nice if Israel cleaned up the mess, and I sure as hell don’t expect the US to do it. You entirely missed the point. I was being facetious. By the way, I am not entirely sure that the US would block any UN resolution condemning us if we did invade Syria.
Another thing. I take offence at your statement about disliking “posting angry messages here because it seems somehow anti-semetic.” (spelt “semitic”, by the way). People like you stifle the debate by claiming we take all criticism as anti-Semitism. That is such rubbish.
Lastly, start posting your name or alias, because quite frankly, responding to “anonymous” is getting kind of boring.
I think your delivery of my name is better than Bruce’s. And much better than mine.
Yeah, I’m sorry about that post
. I was having a knockdown-dragout argument with a liberal friend about the USA promoting democracy in the world (I claim to be libertarian, so you know it was ugly). At that point, I listened to your podcast that seemed to suggest it was the US’s job to fix Syria. I reached a tipping point, and … well you can read the result.
About the anti-semitic remark. I am a white person. Unfortunately a white person in America is not allowed to say anything unkind about any minority without being labeled a racist or fascist or something. And jews represent a minority in America. I strongly agree that it stifles debate, but both of those words are unappealing to me, so it’s easier if I just hold my tongue. I make no claim that you would take my statement as anti-semitic, I only explain whiy I don’t like to post angry comments on your site.
I think you are wrong about America vetoing anything negative towards israel in the UN(besides a condemnation or some useless statement like that). I guess there is no way to know for sure.

Kevin,
Thank you for the clarification. In case it hasn’t been clear from my podcasts, I am a big fan of the US and what it has done to promote democracy throughout the world. But like Israel, it is not immune from criticism at times. I just think that the US should give us more leeway in allowing us to clean up some messes in this part of the world. For example, after a terrorist attack, the message from the US should not be “restraint”, but “go for it.”
Yeah, it makes no sense that when we get attacked, we replace governments, and when Israel gets attacked almost daily, we ask for a measured response. Measured responses only prolong wars. I’d bet that if Israel destroyed all buildings in a 1 mile radius from your borders, and made clear that with each terrorist attack, the radius would increase another mile, your terrorist woes would soon be over.
Of course that would be inhumane and bad PR. But at some point something drastic has to be done to end all of this.
