Dave you are right not to publish your reply on his site. I spent hours crafting a sincere, heartfelt statement, only to see it deleted within less than an hour.

He is disingenuous. He pretends to be an honest, sincere person interested in free debate. The truth is, he just enjoys making himself look good by tearing others down. He is a shakran.

Good post Dave, I wrote about this guy's rants too. I would love to respond to his accusations, but really it's nothing short of a joke. I love Israel, and that bothers him. I won't be sorry for loving my homeland simply to appease a leftist who is being a baby.

If he wants a nomination next year, he needs to find a fan of his blog who cares enough to nominate him. Otherwise, I'll just copy and paste what I said this year on his whine-post next year.

Thanks for everything.

"...to the right of where I consider myself."

That definition is kind of fuzzy. It's the same problem where Moussolini is supossed to be right wing, because he was 'to the right' of Stalin.

I hear you and agree with you, Dave. This discussion went on over at DB's on Friday, and I said something similar regarding the lack of equal representation of more left-leaning blogs:

..I don't have a problem with LGF and Cox & Forkum being included in the Israel Advocacy category, even though I find them and most of the other blogs nominated in the category to be to the right of where I consider myself. What DOES bother me is the lack of equal representation. But where were all of you (and I am guilty as well) when the nominations opened? Mobius made sure to lodge his complaint against the inclusion of LGF, but where was his counternomination? I don't think the answer here is to lash out against the inclusion of those blogs you don't see eye-to-eye with. It would have been to ensure the inclusion of those you do. In addition, to deny that there are many left-leaning blogs who create a sentiment that crosses the line from being against the policies of the State of Israel (no problem) to actually encouraging their readers to be anti-Israel (not ok) is execising extreme denial.

Hey, me and my blog weren't disparaged one bit, though I'm in the JIB's. I feel left out.

Hey, come check out my blog, Mystical Paths, so it can be disparaged too! (Not by you Dave.)

I guess open-exchange of ideas went by the wayside in the Platonic/Marxist sense. The only stories that should be told are those that agree with the TRUTH. Yours, clearly, don't agree with the TRUTH and should be deleted :)

Ya know... I commented on Silverstein's blog and pointed out some of the factual innaccuracies it contained. I went out and then when I came back, it was gone. I wasn't even rude! WTF?

To be fair Dave, it's Dan Sieradski, not Siedarsky. That's cool though - I also have a dickens of a time with ashkenazic names.

So back to Silverstein - WTF? What ever happenned to the open exchange of ideas? As you know, we get tons of comments on Jewlicious and we never delete any of them (short of legal sanctions or spam of course).

Oh well.
