Freedom of speech is also applicable in this case. But what he has been condemened for was an <em>Orwellian thoughtcrime</em>. And <em>that</em> is typically European. Political Correctness is the first ennemy of freedom. I wrote <a href="http://sisyphosmount.blogspot.com/2006/02/thoughtcrime-ii.html" rel="nofollow">here</a> why I think so. There is a possible exception to this in a case where someone directly incites to violence.
