The Siege of Jericho

Apparently there has been a wee bit of drama while I was off celebrating the Purim festival.

Here’s what went down: American and British monitors, who were supervising the detention of the murderers of Rehavam Zeevi (an elected Israeli minister) pursuant to a compromise reached between Israel and the PA, left as a result of security concerns (i.e. the PA had not kept their end of the bargain, something that even UK Foreign Secretary Jack Straw admitted). Since it was clear from the statements of “Moderate” PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that he would let them go free – in clear violation of the compromise agreement – Israel did what any civilized country would do: surrounded the prison after the international monitors left, and demanded that the prisoners turn themselves in.

Popular Front Secretary General Ahmad Saadat, the jailed mastermind behind Minister Zeevi’s murder, talked the talk.

“We are not going to surrender. We are going to face our destiny with courage”

Approximately 9 hours later, he and his fellow terrorists were walking the walk.

In between, there was the expected rash of riots, attacks on buildings, and kidnappings.

Despite the fact that this was precipitated by the PA’s clear breach of a past agreement regarding the prisoners (their abject failure to provide sufficient security for the international monitors, as well as Abbas’ declaration that the prisoners would be released), Abbas has employed the tried and tested palestinian propaganda technique of turnspeak to accuse the British and US of violating the agreement.

Mr Abbas, who is president of the Palestinian Authority, called the withdrawal of the prison monitors a grave violation of agreements.

All of this did not stop the British and US from insisting that Israel “exercise restraint” during the operation. And I have no doubt hilarity criticism will ensue.

*sigh*

In any event, Israel’s citizens should be extremely proud of the IDF, who have successfully captured the murderers of an elected Minister. I know I am.

I am proud too. The UK knows the truth but is playing the dhimmi. Are you getting worried that the US will also stop short of invading Iran due to public pressures (i.e. idiot public)? I have a revolting feeling that Israel may have to do the dirty work on Iran too.

Damn the world sucks. I am definately making Aliyah- I am saving up for some open-ended airplane tickets, enough for the whole family. How soon I use them depends on the UK electorial results. :s

    Israel Invades Jericho

Israel’s Defense Forces entered Jericho to make sure that killers of an Israeli Minister were not set free by Hamas. We applaud Israel’s action. We also believe that if Likud’s campaign that has pointed out the government’s weakness in dealing…

The people who say that targeted assasinations are executions without trial should not complain about this raid. Israel captured the terrorists. Isn’t this what they claim they want? I can’t blame these guys for giving up rather than dying. I do blame them for expecting and encouraging their followers to kill themselves in the name of Alah, when they are not willing to.

As I was reading the news reports on this, I couldn’t help but start to laugh. I am proud of the IDF and the manner in which they did this.

When I first heard that the IDF had entered a Palestinian jail recently, I assumed the IDF had a good reason. Everything I’ve heard since then shows the IDF had plenty of good reasons. Sometimes you have to take care of things yourself. God bless Israel.

As the case should always be, when uncivilized people violate an agreement, civilized countries need to intervene. The Palestinians agreed to retain these prisoners and protect the oversight Americans and British. They did not, and the IDF brilliantly intervened.

When Sadam Hussein vilolated the cease fire he agreed to after the first invasion of Irag, civilized nations intervened.

Uncivilized societies are always capable of violating their agreements. That is why they are uncivilized.

I hope the Palestinian people will someday elect a civilized government. Until that day, civilized countries will have to intervene when agreements are violated, no matter how the truth gets twisted.

The israely occupation army launched a brave strike with tanks and bulldozzers against unarmed prisoners. They murdered two palestinian guards and wounded five others. The plot to assasinate in cold blood these innocent guards was carrefuly prepared with their american and english accomplices who had the courage to flee the scenes minutes before, violating the agreement to protect their prisoners. Again, disproportionate force has been used instead of asking the american guards to give them the prisonners! This tragic comedy has been set up mainly for the israely public opinion, who loves to see palestinian humiliated in public, a tactic which has never worked in more than 50 years. The israely army then kidnaped several prisonners, among them Ahmad Saadat, suspected of having punished the far right former israely tourism minister, who wanted to evict palestinians from their land. The israely murderer of Mr Ahmad Saadat predecessor has never been caughted.
