This logic comes from the 6 day war. Israel was not the agressor, but pre-empted a clear attack from Egypt and Jordan. The 6 day war was a war in defence of Israel's existance, and as such the land it captured from agressors is Israel's. That is how it has worked throughout history.Israel is not an occupying power. If the Palestine Arab refugees kept their side of the bargain and stopped terrorism, it would be Israel's responsibility to withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza, however not a single part of that agreement was kept by the Palestine Arab refugees, as such, the land is still Israel's.
