And of them some will click through to one or more ads. The guy did pretty well on his own publicity, got mentioned on big news sites like the BBC I think, so yes, he is basically selling advertising on an website which is only famous for selling advertising.But the point of advertising is to get your product noticed. If someone clicks onto the million dollar homepage (or equivalent) and likes my 10x10 pixel icon so that he clicks it and gets though to my site selling pencil sharpeners - well, it's $100 well-spent (asuming it happens enough times). Well, put it this way, you already gave them 2 free links and so some (OK small) amout of people will click in from your site. And of them some will click through to one or more ads.
