Question: What brings a smile to the face of a PETA activist?
Answer: A good, old fashioned tiger mauling.
This article made me smile a bit:A tiger mauled a well-known animal performer at a Moscow circus during a show, circus officials said on Sunday.Doctors used nearly 100 stitches on Artur Bagdasarov for slash and puncture wounds, but the wounds were not life-threatening and the trainer was conscious, according to a statement posted on the performer’s internet site.
Bagdasarov was trying to organise several tigers into a pyramid yesterday when a tiger named Caesar suddenly swiped at his shoulder, said Mikhail Bagdasarov, a relative and co-animal trainer.
”This lasted only 10 seconds. The tiger attacked him on his shoulder, pulled him under and tried to bend him, started to maul him with his paws,” Mikhail Bagdasarov said in televised comments.
I am beginning to suspect that these guys don’t love animals as much as they hate humans.

I won’t say anything about him personally. I don’t need to, as he says enough for others to judge upon. I’ll simply said I would be a lot more supportive of his cause if he didn’t appear to take some level of pleasure at seeing a man mauled by a tiger, and animal who may or may not lead a happy life, and perhaps just got spooked. (Any animal can be friendly forever, then go wild when spooked! I’m sure that would result in certain people grinning…)

City Catches Runaway Kangaroo
A Kangaroo that surprised residents as he sprang through a suburban town near Lisbon, Portugal, has been caught. Authorities say a local carpenter had been keeping the illegal pet.

Portuguese authorities had bigger worries than the World Cup in a Lisbon suburb this week:
Residents of Sintra, a town about 30-kilometers north of the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, couldn’t believe their eyes when the small marsupial hopped across their front yards. Had they suddenly been transported to the Australian Outback? In the end, it turned out to be a kangaroo who had just lost his way.
Before its capture on Tuesday, the kangaroo spent three days hopping around Sintra. Authorities first became aware of the marsupial mayhem on Sunday, when a resident of Sintra called the police to say a kangaroo was visiting on the loose in the neighborhood. Initially, police didn’t believe the caller and thought it was a prank. “The agent who took the call thought it was strange, he asked the caller to verify that it was actually a kangaroo,” officer Pedro Nogueira told a Portuguese television station.
Ultimately, it turned out the kangaroo had been illegally kept as a house pet on an area farm. Authorities were able to track down the kangaroo’s owner, the head of a small construction company. He now faces possible fines and charges for keeping the kangaroo and other exotic animals without having the proper licenses. A deer, ostriches, sheep, rabbits, and four other kangaroos were removed from the farm. The animals were transported to a nature reserve where authorities are trying to determine if any of them belong to an endangered species.
