Australia is with you guys.

As usual these characters can't come up with a better idea for what you should do. All their ideas would just make the situation worse than it already is. They don't realize that Hizb'allah's only goal is to kill all Jews. Yes, you're right, it's nothing like World War 2...

Yes. At least I think I am.....no credit to me, but to my dear old passed-away investigative newspaperman father. :) In which mien I discovered something yesterday about Iran that has blown my mind -- and heart :) -- with joy: Iran, with its underground church of believers in Isa :) , is the fastest growing church of any country in the world. According to Voice of the Martyrs, the people are so weary of hatred that they long for love, and the apostles of Love are being eagerly listened to and their message embraced, even in the face of grieveous persecution. Well, not "even", but actually "because of"! :) The reason that piece of news overfilled my cup is because I just finished reading a book on China, The Heavenly Man, of course doing the needful research all along as I read :) , and find that movement bursting at the seams in that country, too! Under the same conditions. And in Vietnam, too. And Cambodia.

Aussie Dave, I appreciate your "Is really cool" putting forth of Israel's work in standing firm, while we in Christ are working as fast as we can to defuse the terror and replace it with Peace. :)

love you, and all those of such intelligence, with His love,

Ma Sands

YES! For once someone on this blog understands! I am getting really sick of hearing analogies that tie this war with World War II. That conflict was TOTAL WAR, a war between states, a war between every single able bodied male in each country.

This war however, is not. It is a war between a single radical ethnic group within an entire country. You simply cannot compare the situation to WWII.

As far as posts saying how the world is "behind israel" i would have to disagree with that. My country (the U.S.) is pretty much the only nation that supports this terrible campaign. Every other major world power is against it. Nearly all of them (save regimes such as Iran and Syria) want ALL deaths to cease, both Israeli and Lebanese. This means supporting Israel's fight against terrorists but not condoning their course of action.

Pete,

If you can't tell the difference between terrorism and a country defending itself in a moral way (how many other countries warn - in advance with leaflets and phonecalls - residents and the terrorists who hide behind them to leave the area?) then this does not augur well for fighting the growing war against Islamism.

You do cover a wide range of reports which is good - however...

An obvious example of fighting with terror (Pete you're right it's just a case of terminology) - people in Gaza subject to sonic boom attacks. When a sonic boom attack was mistakenly carried out over Israel, people thought there was a bombing occuring, they were terrified. These attacks cause miscarriages and are denounced internationally.

Comparing this with WW2 is far too simplistic - like US bombing Afghanistan after 9/11. You are not fighting a regular army, you are fighting terrorists who live and work among civilians.

If you want to talk sbout jellyfish Europe, look at Spain against ETA, UK against the IRA. It's not clearcut like 2 armies, it takes more than just punching the hell out of the other person.

Don't be like US against Al Qaeda, it hasn't worked. You are alienating the populations you want to link with - eg. by destroying power stations, bridges, roads, democratically elected government buildings.

The world supports Israel against Hizbollah - but not how the IDF conducts its war. It looks like you are a child - frustrated and lashing out, sometimes apparently indiscriminantly.

How's this for a view on how to fight terrorism:
