Hey I used to visit your blog before this Hizbal-khara madness for a view of the ME through Israeli eyes (ok ok mainly for the pisstakes on middle eastern political figures, but still) and now we've all got our man on the ground as it were (ok not on the ground, but close enough to know what's going on without being a BS.BBC reporter spewing out biased coverage.

Thanks a lot for the regular updates, my prayers are with the Israeli and Lebanese people during these troubled times.

Apparently a Finnish UN observer died in the UN outpost blast and it's good to hear comments & opinions from the other side of the spectru since the media here (I live in Finland) cannot be trusted to remain neutral in the issue. But I do believe that what happened should be investigated.

May God save those who do not believe they are superior to another ethnicity/religion.

The Nazis thought they were superior. They are no role model to look up to.

Re Lebanese army "martyrs" - it's just a term, on this website is information about the IDF soldiers killed - is this not also making "heroes"/"martyrs" out of militants?

Why has Israel lost this war, oh I mean armed conflict?

The big mistake of Bint Jubeil and why the IDF has lost its touch is easy to see. Instead of pursing Hizballah to the Litani river and keeping on the offensive the IDF pulled back its assualt prior to shoring up its defence perimeter around the town. By losing the initiative Hizballah was able to re-group and counter attack, ambushing the IDF and taking them by surprise. Olmerts government seems to want to continue making these mistakes by telling Hizaballah what they are going to do or not do in advance, ignoring the ground commanders requests for enough troops and support and then second guessing those same commanders when things like above happen. No clear military objectives have been set and it seems the politicians are calling the shots for whatever strategy there is. This is not the way to defeat Hizaballah, this is how you strengthen Hizaballah. I held my breath that the Hanit incident was just a one time blunder but it seems the IDF isn't prepared and Israelie cabinet doesn't have the stomach to take Hizaballah down. May God save Israel.
