Arik’s Final Battle?

Laurence Simon

Things are taking a turn for the worse for Ariel Sharon:

Ariel Sharon’s condition has deteriorated, according to the hospital where the ailing former Israeli prime minister is being treated. Anat Dolev, spokeswoman for the Chaim Sheba Medical Center, wouldn’t say whether Sharon’s life was in danger.

A new scan showed a deterioration in his brain function, his urine output has decreased significantly and a chest scan showed that he had a new infection, Dolev said.

Sharon, 78, has been in a coma since suffering a massive stroke Jan. 4. He underwent several extensive brain surgeries to stop cerebral hemorrhaging, in addition to more minor procedures.

Watch for the celebrations in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, and around the Arab/Muslim world, for that matter, when Sharon does pass away. Contrast that reaction, if you will, with the Israeli reaction to the death of arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat.

G-d willing, he should live longer - but maybe it’s just as well he won’t see the mess this “ceasefire” leads up to.

That Arik Sharon is dying has been obvious since January 4th. But where there might have been hope for recovery, this has faded. I really believe he’s been kept alive on machines. And, now part of Olmert’s thinking is that the “cease fire” puts aside the Hezbollah “crises.” Where they have been deteriorated, no matter what nasrallah brags. And, the funeral for Sharon has been planned, now, for awhile. Some day, people will see the common sense Olmert has. And, his political wisdom. That Dalia Itzik ran to Netanyahu for a “secret meeting” is such a shame. Sharon HATED HER! And, ddin’t want to offer her a spot on Kadima; but Shimon Peres threw a tantrum. Then? Olmert didn’t know what to do with this piece of garbage, so he put her in a nice seat, in the knesset. But this little woman is an evil backbiter; in a world full of extortionists. I actually think Olmert has the talents and skills to prevail. But who can read the future? Look how Sharon, himself, suffered at the hands of Golda Meir. And, then, so unnecessarily, at the hands of doctors. Sometimes, the lessons to teach is that there are no modern miracles. And, it takes a long time to sort out history from the racketeers who run to profit during war times. CAROL HERMAN
