Easy on the Spanish soldiers. A few points. Zapatero’s government is cowardly, inept, and anti-Israel, and the Spanish public regularly polls as more anti-American than the French but the Spanish military trends right and cheerfully deployed to Iraq (and were not at all happy about the way they were made to leave). In Lebanon they can’t help it if the rules of engagement are such that they can’t actually stop the terrorists.
Are they a crack first rate fighting force? Em… no. They’re competent but not on par with Israel or America. Then again they haven’t had to be.
Are they “meat shields” who would get in Israel’s way in round two? Yes, probably, but this isn’t their fault.

The point of the post is that we do not want foreign troops “protecting” us. We have to handle it ourselves. So I use humor to make my point - that the foreign troops do not have the motivation to do what the IDF should be doing.

Yes there will be a lot more countries coming to lebanon and to the coast of libanon. The opinion in europe about the moslem begavior in the world is also changing dramatcaly in the last years. But may be it is also the fault of your spineless politicians who decided to go ino that war and didn’t finish it properly. So that there is still a lot of shit remaining in south libanon that the free men of IDF forces were not able or not allowed to clean up properly. So why do you go to war when you do want to win it properly?

Yes, out spineless government is absolutely at fault. They did not “go to war” - war came to them, in the form of a massive Hizballah attack on Israel.
And guess why didn’t they have the balls to finish it? What were they afraid of?

They may have been spineless but they didn’t start it. I don’t subscribe to the ME definition of victory - in 34 days the IDF managed to reduce Hisb’s fighting force by untold hundreds (untold because it’s against Hizbs interest to publish their number of dead) of Hizb fighters. They knocked out Hizbs long range rocket ability. They reduced the number of bunker/weapons complexes both in the initial surge and the subsequent ‘withdrawl’ back to Israel’s borders. They didn’t start the war - but it sure as hell looks like they got Hizb to blow it’s wad early and now Iran no longer has a viable proxy in the area.

Hizb is better equiped and organized than most of the ME forces. It was using Sagger anti-tank missles against the IDF. The Sagger is far from being a ‘2 world war’ weapon. While the IDF does use some euro and US weapons a lot of it’s equipment is home grown. Merkiva tank - made in Israel. Galil - made in Israel. Spider anti-missle system - made in Israel. I’m sure most of the ordinance is Israeli made as well. Why? Because all the FSKING countries around them have embargoes against them.
The IDF has more combat experience that all of the current Euro nations combined. They have been fighting or have seen fighting since their inception in ‘48. Spain? The last major action they saw was what, their civil war? France? The last effective French General was Joan of Arc. Italy switched sides in WWII. Germany lost WWII. England won a war thousands of miles away but you don’t see them jumping into this theatre.

Getting serious, you don’t think that eurabia would put sanctions against your country?? No important politician from the EU told something like this. At my work for example we decided a new coperation with Haifa technolgy center in the end days of the war and Isreal pays nothing and we pay around 150k euros…
And to the weapons: For example the submarine deal with germany… you pay only 2/3 of the cost, the rest of it it payed by german tax payer (about 333 million euro)!! And the first two of those were completly given from germany to Israel a few years ago! Isn’t this the so important submarine, that allows you the second stike, that one guy in the top mentions so proudly??
Germany only shares that submarine with fuel cell to israel and that in time that you tell me that you stoped the war cause of us??
Another thing: The contract to that submarine deal was signed as you were in war with hisbolla, although the german goverment is not allowd by his law to sell weapons to another country that is in a not really defined war or might use those wapons to start a war. So stop thinking that whole europe is doing something against your so tough IDF guys and that it is our fault, that you didn’ t win proberly. I have never had contact to IDF solders during my duty, but a lot to US soldiers, that some guys here think that they are also so strong , cause I served in a multinational force and when I see how easiliy they fighted against the irak people in the first month ( with european gun barrels in their tanks, that allowed them to soot the double range of the iraks one). I know that many europeans would also look really good against those guys. even if they fight more with the mind and technics then with tonnes of equipent like us… and then they allways loose or stop before the real end.
