Men With Guns

I just love this caption.

Notice how the fact the men are carrying weapons is mentioned as an aside, as if it is incidental. Not only that, but only some of them are carrying weapons. I’m willing to bet that the only men in this protest without arms are the ones who lost them in botched terror attacks.
Even Reuters refers to them as gunmen. But let’s not get carried away…they have an equally laughable way to paint these men in the best possible light.

“Will you kindly give me a job, or I’ll blow your f***ing head off.”

whats weird is that I was looking through one of the Reuters photography books the other day and there was a picture of two kids who couldn’t have been older than 9, both were holding Kalashnikovs I was surprised that the caption didn’t describe them as ‘toy’ guns, there was another kid wearing blocks of wood round his waist and it was called a ‘toy suicide belt’- you really do have to ask what type of monster would let their child play ‘suicide bomber’. Nevermind, maybe the next time I go for a job interview I’ll take a toy RPG.
Can anyone imagine a protest demonstration in any civilized country where people come armed with automatic weapons?
The press consistantly acts as if this behavior is normal.
