There is no conflict. We are supporting terrorism every time we pump gas from Saudi Arabia and Iran into our cars. This president (the worst in my lifetime) has tried to take tax credits away from hybrid vehicles and give credits for businesses using SUVs. There is no conflict between the environment and the war on terror. Only a conflict between common sense and the sheer stupidity of the Bush administration. Stan On a side note, rather than live blogging the Gaza/Sderot war, maybe do a less time consuming summary at the end of the day. I may live in Pittsburgh now, but my parents, brother, sister, and rest of my family still live in South Florida, which was just as recently as a few years ago ravaged by seven hurricanes in two years. The only saving grace last year was a rapidly developing El NiÒo that could not be predicted ahead of time. People may disagree, but I think global warming has a lot to do with those recent hurricanes, and now with no El NiÒo-induced wind shear (but rather its polar opposite, La NiÒa), everyone and their mother is expecting a very active hurricane season. And this can just become more common if things aren't done NOW. Oh, and Mr. Witz, nice to know you haven't checked out the water issue in Israel in particular and the Middle East in general, because even more than the hurricanes along the Eastern Seaboard of the US, global warming will cause huge water shortages due to increased desertification. The IPCC has given us a window of 30 years to blunt the effect. Because after rejectionist Islamism, water rights is the issue most likely to cause war in the greater Middle East.
