The Insanity of Root Cause Ruminating
As you are probably already aware, two Muslim doctors have been arrested over the failed car bombing terror attack at Glasgow airport. As Charles bluntly puts it: “Maybe we can finally cross “poverty” off the list of root causes.” I hate it when someone beats me to the punchline.
In any event, if people did not learn this from 9-11, they are probably not going to learn it from this latest chapter in the jihadi war against the West. And if more people don’t learn it soon, this will in fact be the latest chapter in the (future) Islamic book How the West Was Won.
But back to the Muslim doctors. One of them is “Jordanian” neurologist Dr Mohammed Asha, the suspected ringleader of the plot. But by “Jordanian”, I really mean “palestinian.”* No doubt, he joined the terrorist group because of his rage over one or more of the below:
Alternatively, let’s stop kidding ourselves about so-called root causes for Islamic terrorism, stop blaming ourselves for their hatred of our way of life, and let’s get serious about defending ourselves.

Dave,
Being a person whom considers himself left wing, it is scary to me how often I agree with you.
This posting nails the issues exactly. You have stated things in the most succinct logical way I have seen.
As a follower of your blog, I want to encourage you to keep going despite the recent slap in the face from the msm.
Thanks

I believe fanaticism is a DSM diagnosis. It is clearly a mental disorder. Back in the 1960s Eric Hoffer wrote “The True Believer,” about fanatics. While not particularly original, the idea that fanatics find comfort in extremeism without regard to what the belief is explains quite a few fanatics. At some point we have to deal with the mental disorder that affects so many in the Muslim world.
