Moved to WordPress
As you will have noticed, I am trying out WordPress. There are still some glitches to be ironed out – such as missing images and old permalinks not working. Also, all comments imported from Blogware are now “anonymous.”
In order to help me decide whether or not I should stick with WordPress, I would very much like your feedback. Is it now easier to comment? Are load times better than before? Do you think I should make the move permanently?
Update: I should also mention that posting may be somewhat sporadic for the next few days or so, as I try to to tinker around.
Update: I have now figured out how to upload the remaining images (which I have).

I like the layout better but you need a more appealing header and of course, pics! (the most important thing) before i can make judgement. I have noticed the sites with the most hits have the best pics, but im sure you know that already. At the moment it looks a touch plain but the gradient, shadows and decal in the corner are a good start.

The theme is just temporary until I work out how to download other themes and customize them, as well as upload pictures etc. Please bear with me!
I think it loads much MUCH quicker.
I am a fan of your blog’s content, so am happy to wait for the new theme.

STAY! STAY! STAY! You’ll find wordpress much, much better than blogware. I can assure you that the comments will increase. The commenting on your previous site was a huge pain.
I see what you mean. I already have almost more comments on this post than the one where I announced my near-death!
It seems that this system works much better. I think you should continue to use wordpress simply because it’s easier to comment. The easier it is, the more people will have to say. It’s sad but true. The site also loads much faster now.

Good to see that you moved! The only thing I’d recommend (aside from site design) is to install some anti-spam technology such as Askimet, otherwise you will be owned by the denomination that endorses the interbreeding between humans and animals. (unfortunately I’m not joking here, but I think you get the point).

Just wanted to comment on Darnell Clayton’s point about Akismet. We’re actually preinstalling a Pro-Blogger class Akismet key on all PressHarbor blogs. The ProBlogger class Akismet key is a high-priority commercial key. According to Automattic, commercial keys have higher priority over free ones and the service is faster and more reliable than with non-commercial keys.
Automattic would charge $5/month of $55/year for a ProBlogger Akismet license; we include this license free in all PressHarbor web hosting packages.
So long story short – this blog is indeed protected by Akismet!
All seems to be better…. frankly your old banner took up too much space at the top of the screen. Something a little less tall would be good but the site is much quicker. Well done on the move.
i was thinknig with the confusion and trouble shooting with wordpress, maybe a string of podcasts till it all gets worked out?
