Joseph, what positive side of the story do you refer to? That the police were actually only protecting their own? The fact that if they had lynched this major the retaliation from Israel would of been severe? Im sure if the police had thought Israel would not retaliate at this present time, they would of done nothing! They havent in the past.
The highlight of this story isnt the fact that this major was rescued, but more the reaction of the Palastinians trying to kill him for no reason other than him being an Israeli. Idiots like you are the only ones that are completely oblivious to reality thinking theres a chance of peace with a group of people that only exist to destroy Israel.
.......you are wrong, go read the Palastinian Charter, which i might add, Abbas hasnt even changed!

Yeah, it's tough with the ISM. Of all the Internationals I've met over the years, their members are the ones who aren't even interested in hearing about Israeli-Palestinian cooperative measures of any kind ("collaboration" has become a dirty word) and also are sceptical and suspicious of any Israelis who aren't psycho Border Policemen or Baruch Goldstein. Doesn't work for their narrative. Other groups are at least more open-minded, even those who are outrightly campaigning for Palestinian independence.

it seems such a tragedy that rather than broadcasting this story as a beacon for peace, the positive elements of the rescue have been brushed under the table... If you were to read this article in isolation you would be ignorant to the heroic actions of the Palestinian Police - infact it would be hard to take anything positive from this story if you were oblivious to the reality.

Why anyone would want to distort a sotry which benefits both parties is beyond me.

I noticed the perhaps and couldn't help but be disgusted in two ways: Not only are they dumbing down what happened, they're consciously admitting that there's a possibility the person could have been killed - and ignoring that fact anyway! At least other groups will lie to be consistent. They're lying a bit less and still being hypocritical. That's just stupid.
