Deja Vu

An Israeli police officer lifts the remains of a rocket, fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza, after it landed in the southern town of Sderot August 23, 2007. REUTERS/Amir Cohen (ISRAEL)

The instance I saw this photograph – purportedly from August 23, it struck me as being familar. And while I could not find the exact photograph in a previous post, I found a similar one in this post…from May 23rd.

The policeman is even wearing the exact same clothes (which are seemingly not a uniform).

My point? I’m glad you asked. Reuters (who took both photographs) have a history of sloppiness and deception. Could it be that they are recycling this photograph from over 3 months ago, and making out like it is only a week old?

Or is there an Israeli policeman out there in bad need of a new wardrobe?

Curious minds need to know.

    Good catch.

Could be that it’s just a uniform and that all males in the force have to have their heads shaved, especially if he’s working in a desert town like Sderot.

It’s not that crazy to guess it might be the same guy. It’s the same job and basically the same place – and I guess he wears similar clothes to work every day. Even if it’s not a uniform there’s probably some sort of expectation that police wear black/clue stuff.
