Living the dream. Mr. Raab is about my age. I lived in Germany from '70-'73 as a U.S. Air Force brat. Our neighborhoods were patroled by military police off and on, whenever the threats came. Throughout the '71-'72 school year, we had frequent, sometimes daily, bomb scares at our high school. They cut off locks on the lockers and brought the dogs through every time. Although the Germans couldn't quite handle facing down the Munich terrorists, they did send heavily armed riot police - 2 vans full - to our high school and chased down, flattened and hauled off a (small) high school kid who was accused of shoplifting. In the fall of '72, I was followed around by military police with dogs for several weeks following the Munich Olympics because the Palestinians and Baader Meinhoff gang were threatening to kidnap the kids of American commanders.
