Quote of the Day
“There is no place for politics [in mourning the foreigners killed in the Thai plane crash]“
- Unidentified Iranian official talking to Israeli paper Ha’aretz about the plane crash that killed 89 people, including approximately 55 foreigners, of which 8 were Israeli.
Update: This explains it:
Iran’s ambassador to Bangkok has requested the aid of Israeli forensics experts in identifying the bodies of 18 Iranian nationals missing after a fatal plane crash Sunday.
In other words, there is no place for politics when we need your help.
Not that we shouldn’t help, and not that we haven’t helped in the past. Although more often than not, the Iranians have rebuffed our offers.
I wonder who the Iranians would turn to for help if they made good on their promise to wipe us off the map.

I was going to say, maybe there’s no room for politics when it comes to mourning, but when it comes to saving people from death, politics does play a role.
But you inserted a link to that instance later.
