I heart Google Earth as well. It is an awesome program. But when confronted with direct knowledge of terrorist usage of a particular area, it would be irresponsible and dangerous for Google to hide behind their free-speech mantra and keep the images available. The lease they can do is take down the high-res images of the area (I know, smart terrorists would have cached the images, but it’s the least they can do).

Heck I know kids that could tap their data stream and have a screen setup here to clone their every move just to see where they went, what they looked at and how long they stayed some place and be able to play it back in slow motion for analysis at their leisure.

Well gee now that is interesting and all and quite frankly a pretty obvious thing for them to do.

Now I am sure some wise person has the IP off every node in the area and all they have to do is play man in the middle and block the real feed from Google Earth and then send them a bogus version so they can do their best to stage a frontal assault on the nearest honey trap set up for them.

Who they gonna believe Google or their lying eyes?
