Israeli News Briefs – November 7th, 2007

  • Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert may have been snubbed by an award winner, but at least he’s won an “award” of his own.
  • Jerusalem Arabs are fleeing the apartheid state of Israel in droves. Just kidding; they’re applying for Israeli citizenship by the hundreds.
  • French President Nicolas Sarkozy has told the American Jewish Committee that he always thought of Israel as a miracle. I personally think hearing this from a French President is a miracle.

OT: Remember the Wonkette antiSemitism story from a few months back? If you recall, they blamed it on linking to a youtube clip that had the term “Jew-liani”. The same guy who had that clip has another, even more noxious one out about Elliot Spitzer (that “type” of New Yorker). I read about it on FullosseousFlap: http://flapsblog.com/?p=5854

The Jerusalem story reminds me of something I may have read in a newsmagazine or online(can’t remember). “Better to live in hell in jerusalem than to live in paradise in the PA”. Eh?
