The quotes come from this Radar Online article. If you read the whole thing, you’ll discover that Fabio is not the vacuous punchline that many people associate with his name.

Not that I know anything about Fabio, but there is a point here worth noting.
There is a close connection between fighting terrorism and the development of alternative energy.
Unfortunately in America, the Bush administration has a vested interest in the oil companies, and creates policies designed to scuttle alternative energy projects (even going so far a to remove tax breaks for hybrids in favor of a break for companies buying suvs).
