Small Request
Longtime readers of this blog will know I am not one to reveal too much about my personal life on here. The focus of this blog is Israel and the Middle East, and I like to keep things informative and entertaining. At least that’s my goal; whether or not I succeed in this is something I’ll leave for you to decide.
With this post, I’m going to break with Israellycool tradition and get a bit personal.
Right now, I am experiencing some personal pain, with my beloved father recently being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. That is the reason I came out here to Australia; I want to spend some quality time with him. While this is a particularly aggressive type of cancer, my father is fighting it in the only way he knows how – with a positive outlook and in a dignified manner. He truly is an inspiration.
I wasn’t going to mention any of this on the blog, but I figure that having more people praying for my dad certainly won’t hurt.
If you are accustomed to praying to G-d, I ask that you please include my father in your prayers. His Hebrew name is Dahvid Ben Friedel.

Dave,
Well done for asking, I will certainly continue sending what positive thoughts I can out into the world for your father, you and your family. Your tireless work is a gift to your readers, new and old, and I’m sure they will return your work with their prayers and thoughts for your Father.
Take the time you have with your dad and know that you’re affirming all that is positive in the world with your thoughts and deeds.

I don’t comment often. But here it is:
Of course. Hope everything will be fine.
Refuah Sh’leima.
I will Bli Neder try to remember to add your father’s name to our shul’s Mishberach list.
Say, I don’t think I need to say “Bli Neder” for trying to remember.
My prayers are with you as my father too fought the proud fight against Pancreatic Cancer. It’s a tough one. Spend as much quality time with him as you can. A positive attitude goes a long way in prolonging life. My prayers are with your dad
Refuah Shlema.
May your father have a refuah shleimah.
If it’s caught early enough pancreatic cancer is survivable. My grandmother had 15 years between first instance being discovered and removed, and the second instance that took her life. Long enough to attend weddings and meet great grandchildren.
Best wishes.
ah, thats no good. refuah shelemah to your dad
You and your family are in my prayers.
Refuah Shleimah to your abba.
Please accept my best wishes for your father. I wish him the best of luck. In the meantime, treasure each moment you have with him; that will mean a lot to both of you.
refuah shleimah
I wish your father refuah shleimah and hope that you will both have many more years to share together. Just make the best of the time that you do have and tell him you love him all the time – a great outlook and alot of love can really help prolong one’s life. I will keep your father in my prayers and ask my husband to make a meshaberach in our synogogue.
Refuah shlema and best wishes, buddy. Will keep your Dad in my thoughts and prayers.
with Refuah Sh’leima for your Abba; strength and humor to his caregivers. Amein
My thoughts are with you and your family, AussieDave. I am a cancer survivor myself, and know how this disease affects the entire family. I join the others in the IsraellyCool blog community in expressing my hopes for the best outcome possible.
My husband is currently fighting Pancreatic Cancer as well, and I will definitely keep your father, and your entire family in my prayers.

REFUAH SHLEMAH. PRAYERS FOR ALL.

Dave
My Mom is also currently fighting pancreatic cancer. All I can say is my thoughts and prayers are with your Dad, you and your family.
Dave,
spend as much time as possible with your dad, my father fought against a brain tumor, every minute I could not be there feels empty, the other ones are there to cherish.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
Praying!
(And btw, I think your prayer request isn’t all that removed from focusing on Israel and the Middle East, since it’s an expression of faith in the Creator; Asa trusted only in the physicians for his foot, and the next line says he died; by contrast Hezekiah called on the Lord also and was given 15 more years; Israel could benefit from more obedience to the Lord right now instead of merely trusting in alliances and mere flesh.)
Hi David, sorry that I didn’t see this until now. Ziva and I thinking of you and your family and this difficult time.
Refuah shlemah. Our thoughts are with your family.
You’ll have the Arizona contingent praying for you, the Mrs. and the 3 little Joe’s.
i dont often comment on here, but as an avid reader of your blog , my thoughts are with you and your family.
