AJ, it makes no difference what a real truthfull righteous converts background is, so long as he abides by the obligations to be a Torah/Halachic observant Jew.

point taken, but what about someone who was born muslim then wanted to covert to judaism at 18, does that make them any less jewish than someone who was born a jew?

and what about someone (who is of aztec ancestry) from mexico who was raised catholic, but wants to convert. does their “jewishness” hold less validity than someone born/raised in israel?

as long as they know about and follow the “halacha” they should be considered jewish am i right?

AJ, I read that JPost article and recall reading an article about this group a year or two ago. From the articles, it would appear that most if not all of the people in this particular group are not Jewish. They might be very sincere wannabees but nothing more. This commentary sums it up: Black or white - the issues are still the same.

Andrew Brehm. This will go on until they have transformed a lie into a “founding myth”. Arafat usually presented himself and palestinian arabs as the true People of Cnaan when in reality the big Arab influx came after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
Anyway, a good founding myth is nothing to be ashamed of and I think no one would have any objections to a Falestini state. If only it wouldn’t all be overshadowed by a society whose real-life ideals are dictated fascist death cult.

What is it with those people and their obsession with calling Israel “Palestine”?

The Quran doesn’t call it “Palestine”. The Muslim rulers never called it “Palestine”. Only the Romans and the British called it “Palestine”.

The Quran only connects “Israel” with the land.
