My Sunday paper, it's in the back page near page nine from a NYTimes syndication. About five paragraphs, with big headline about IDF targeting Hamas. And paragraphs about how many hamas people have been sadly hurt. Last sentence next to last paragraph mentions over 130 rockets fired at Israel if you can make it that far.

And this whole cry-fest about gaza power plants, I'm wondering how much of the world even has electricty, as today Zimbabwe is reported to lose a lot, and why should I care? All that foreign money could buy them lots of power. I bet the qassam makers probably have plenty of generators going.

Thanks for the detailed information on the escalation of rocket attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians. We here in America are preoccupied with the presidential primaries, the subprime mortgage crisis, the pending recession, Britney Spears and the 7th (I think) season of American Idol. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not on most of our radar screens, though it should be.

I was disappointed to open my local small town paper to read the following on the front page: It was reported by our Marshalltown (IA) Times-Republican that one of our local Methodist ministers was joining 75 others active in various Protestant churches in a trip to Israel and "the occupied territories" to see for themselves "the oppression of the Palestinian people." The paper even had a picture of the Rev. Mitchell, embued with his self-righteous sappy smile. I will be sending a letter to the editor of this paper making their readership aware of IsraellyCool as a counterpoint to the misinformation contained in today's edition. Any other suggestions on how to better inform my neighbors in this little Iowa town?

All these "peace treaties" are always initiated from one side, and come with surrender style preconditions.
I never seen that situation in Star Trek! I wonder what race that could've been had they done the Arab League in the show.

Dave, when they are talking body parts, just remember the Chomskys and Norman Finkelsteins of this world who have gone out of their way to support Hezbollah.

It is clear that Sharon's disengagement whilst seeming to be politically an error, given the lack of reciprocity, was sharp and astute. The pals are going to learn the hard way that if they continue to kidnap, fire rockets and terrorize us, they are easily contained and controlled. I know, give them a state!!

Re: Assassinating Nasrallah. Assassination is such a cloak-and-dagger, fly-by-night thing, it sounds as if we are ashamed to do it.

I'm all in favour of a large scale bombing raid in the full view of the world during one of his Jew-hating speeches to avid Jew-hating crowds. The plus side is, no innocent civilians will be harmed.

Dave,
Thanks for a great job - I am constantly checking your site for updates. We recently rented an apartment to a lovely family from Sderot whose children were rolling up in the fetal position and covering their ears every time they heard the "red dawn" anouncement. The kids are doing so much better with a little peace and quiet. It kills me that if this type of behavior is mentioned in the media, it's in small print stuck somewhere where no one notices it. These families really need our support. On the lighter side, I have to know if you ever read back your remarks such as the one above with Ekmeleddin Ihsanogulu and just giggle! I certainly do!

"stop the bloodshed in the impoverished Palestinian territory"

*Snrk.* I'm guessing the Pan-Arabs are just ticked that the IDF has much, much better aim than those launching the daily rocket attacks. I don't hear them pressing the Gazans to "stop the bloodshed" of indiscriminant rocket attacks, and I never expect to.

Oh, for a metric ton of cork and a boatload of mouths to shove it in.
