I noted the term "militants" used unceasingly in the New York Times, and have since since it everywhere. I guess they don't want to make any judgments or to be seen taking sides, so "militants" was deemed a neutral description. But it is such a week word. It seems to imply someone who marches in demonstrations and hands out leaflets. Somehow, I cannot see Nasrallah or a suicide bomber as a militant.
