Well, now the attitude seems to increasingly be: "That's right - we can't, so you're all going to have to go." And, it's a long past due. Force is the only thing they understand, and if a "dumb American" like me can figure this out, why haven't successive Israeli governments? Israel is going to be forced to grit her teeth, harden her heart & follow the Talmud: "When someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first." The fact that we are still taking out a handful of terrorists one at a time and less than a handfull of "metal shops" goes to show that the shmucks in charge should be run out of town on a rail. Better yet, they should be tossed over the wall into Gaza. Let the pirhannas feast. Northern Gaza would have been scorched earth by now, under the leadership of any sane leader in any sane country.
