I'm having a hard time understanding something.

Israel ACCEPTED the UN partition, the arabs rejected it and decide to sort the issue out by attempting to exterminate Israel.

The Palestinians were told to leave the area by Arab leadership in anticipation of a great victory.

One problem, they lost. They majority of Palestinians left ON THEIR OWN ACCORD while cheering on the invaders.

It only gets worse....

Jordan (Transjordan at the time) annexes the West Bank. No uproar at the time, nor little memory of the event today. The West Bank was only occupied after another war when JORDAN was pushed out of the West Bank.

While Israel let in hundreds of thousand of Jews ejected from Arab nations at the time without compensation (where is their right of return?), the arabs refused to accept the Palestinians they told to leave their homes.

The entire mess is Arab in the making. The Palestinians could of had a state 50 years ago.
