Research at universities and prototypes are hardly the same as real, commercial, practical products.
By any yardstick, according to your own sources, Israel is way ahead of the other examples you give in bringing the technology to market. Your criticism is akin to complaining that Apple didn't innovate GUIs - true, but that doesn't take away from what it did do to improve, popularize and productize them.
You can say you are not impressed, but that's just your opinion.

Ok, so who did invent this device?
(Making fun of Israelis because people shoot rockets at their homes is certainly a lower form of humour.)

More Israeli mythology, like "we invented instant messaging and the cell phone." See the Eureka Aerospace's Impsar System discussed in 2004, Cambridge Consultants' Prism 200, Eric Walton's work at Ohio State University, Georgia Tech's Radar Flashlight, etc.
I understand that Israelis need to believe these myths to keep from going crazy, but then when the mighty IDF can't stop homemade rockets from falling on their homes, it kind of falls on its face, doesn't it?
