Everyone is shaking their heads over how a murderer like this can go free. I am dismayed to see that no one sees the far more serious threat that this situation poses to us all.

My main concern is that they trade this animal for living soldiers. If the two captive soldiers are being returned alive, then that is the main thing. Let Hashem take care of the justice for this murderer in His own way.

But if we are returning the murderer for two dead soldiers, then this puts us all in terrible danger.

Consider, if all it takes is a pair of Jewish corpses to return a live prisoner, who among us is going to be safe?

I’ll say this again, if the two soldiers being returned are alive, then it is fair. But if they are dead, then every concerned Israeli has no choice but to make it his business not to bring back any living prisoners. Which is clearly disastrous for intelligence gathering, diplomacy, and the rules of war (such as it is) in general.

But the alternative is even worse.

By allowing this heinous creature known as Samir Kuntar to breathe freely again, the government of Israel has yet again sunk to a new all-time low. I can only hope that someone with an ounce of morality & a sure shot will expedite a timely quick descent to hell.

You are so right on here, Dave. Here in the states we see, all too often, all the focus on the criminal, his (as most violent criminals here are male) rights, etc. and the victim(s) get almost forgotten. It’s anther crime in itself. There is no punishment in this world bad enough for this disgusting excuse for whatever, I can’t even call him human. tragedy upon tragedy… let there not be more tragedy by freeing him.
